How you select your partner hospitals?

Global Medical Care carefully chooses for you the best hospitals around the world. In order to be selected by Global Medical Care a hospital needs to meet the following criteria:

  • Be evaluated, reviewed and accredited by leading international associations (JCITUVTEMOS)
  • Must provide a multi-disciplinary medical service.
  • Patients can obtain consultations for any number of sought-after and popular treatments.
  • Have in-house patient relationship managers speaking your language
  • Always be first in adopting providing newest technologies
  • Employ a pool of recognized and/or highly trained and experienced doctors or surgeons
  • Be accountable and adhering to a highly developed ethics and respectful of patient rights
  • All partner hospitals have been personally visited by our expert team and must score at least 9 out of 10 based on our own stringent evaluation criteria
May I see the accreditation certificate of the hospital/clinic I choose?

Of course. We will be glad to send you all relevant information and proof of accreditation.

Doctors

Are your surgeons/dentists board certified? If so, by which board(s)?

As we are only working with accredited hospitals, all doctors are certified by relevant professional organizations. For example, our aesthetic surgeons are certified by either the Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, or the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery or alternatively by their respective country’s Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.

How can I contact my surgeon/dentist after the procedure?

You may contact us anytime about any post-operative issues. This is part of our patient follow up service.

How I will communicate with my doctor/dentist?

An interpreter who speaks your mother tongue will assist you. If you are fluent in English, you won’t need such assistance. All medical teams in our hospitals and your surgeon are fluent in English and some in German too.

How you select your doctors/dentists?

Global Medical Care carefully selects the best surgeons in its network of partner hospitals to ensure the highest quality of treatments and patient safety. We performs suitability reviews for all the surgeons working with GMC and only select those with degrees from top medical schools, and are specialists in their respective medical fields, experienced in treating international patients and recognized by international professional associations. Many of the doctors you will meet have previously worked in hospitals in USA, UK, Germany, and Switzerland or continue to travel internationally for ongoing expert medical training. All doctors serving Global Medical Care patients:

  • Had a very high quality medical training: studied/worked in a Western countries know for their high medical standards
  • Have achieved a high-level academic title and committed to continuous learning of new techniques, treatments and technologies
  • Have extensive experience:
    • Minimum 10 years clinical experience,
    • Performs at least 300 successful operations/year in their respective field,
    • Possess the highest success rates in their field.
  • Are members of internationally recognized associations on their field of expertise
  • Have very high patient satisfaction rate (>4.5/5) during the past 3 years
  • Were personally selected by our medical consultants after onsite inspection and interview

To illustrate the above, experienced dental surgeons, as opposed to standard dentists who solely qualified in dental implants, perform our dental implants operations.

May I change my doctor/dentist?

Yes. GMC will always defend your rights by supporting you as well as accommodate your preference. When arrive at the hospital should you be displeased with your assigned doctor, you are fully entitled to ask for another doctor or dentist. You have the right to choose your doctor within the relevant doctor pool in the hospital. This may however potentially and in a limited manner, impact your treatment schedule.

May I see my doctor’s diploma and certificates?

Yes. When your doctor is assigned to you, we can share his/her diploma and certificates with you upon request.

When I will know who will be my doctor/dentist?

As our international network of partner hospitals comprise over 1000 doctors, all specialized in their field of expertise, and therefore often sought after by patients, you will learn who your assigned surgeon will be once you have select your travel dates.

Packages

Do all your packages offer two-way transfers to and from airport?

Our all-inclusive operations packages indeed contain full transfer services. We know the hassle of finding a transfer between airports and a city. Therefore for your comfort, our all-inclusive packages contain two-way transfers to and from the airport.

Have you visited these hotels?

Yes. Like all hospitals in the GMC network, we visited all the hotels we propose and vouch for their quality and service level.

May I choose my hotel?

We created a pool of hotels to ensure that we can provide you the best accommodation whenever you want at attractive pre-set prices. Therefore to keep our promise, we have to retain the flexibility to use any of the mentioned hotels in the pool. We will of course take your request in to account, but we cannot promise it.

May I organize my surgery by myself?

Yes you can. But in this case you will NOT

  • Benefit from Global Medical Care negotiating power, with the risk of having to pay more for less.
  • Have a Swiss company supporting you and dealing with all the hassles related to trip preparations and who will defend your rights in the eventuality that such measures would be deemed necessary.
  • The peace of mind that will allow you to sit back and relax without the need to search for suitable doctors and medical establishments who are often focused on their marketing narrative.
  • Benefit from Swiss Income tax advantages, as you will be making your payment outside Switzerland.
What will my Global Medical Care Tele-Medicine pre-examination in Switzerland entail?

When you join GMC, prior to scheduling your treatment you will be requested to upload key medical reports to our secure Global Medical Care Tele-Medicine Application. These files will be sent to your doctor and he will define your pre-suitability for the treatment, which will ensure that you are in possession of your doctor’s medical evaluation even before commencing your journey.

When, where and how I should do the payment?

All GMC package payments have to be made in Switzerland before your journey starts. This will eliminate your need to carry any money with you while traveling and is needed in order to benefit from tax advantages. You may pay via bank transfer, orange slip or credit card.

Who do I turn to if a problem occurs during my trip?

In all countries, we have a local Customer Care Representatives that we can reach by phone. They will help you with any problem related to your trip, transfers, hotels, hospitals etc.

Prices

Can there be any extra cost on top of the package cost?

In some rare cases, when your doctor will examine you before the operation, he/she may ask for some additional tests or advise to undergo a different operation before your scheduled one. In such cases, if you want to make additions to your package, extra costs may occur. You will be asked to pay them separately.

Do your prices contain accommodation for a companion who would come to assist me following my operation?

There will be small additional cost to your packages due to hotel and transfers costs.

If I want to arrange my hotel or want to stay with my friends can I deduct accommodation cost from GMC’s package cost?

Yes. But depending on your where you want to stay, transfer costs may increase.

May I change my decision after I paid you and ask for a refund?

Yes.

  • If you want to delay your treatment we will keep your payments and use them whenever you ready for the treatment you have requested.
  • If you want to cancel your treatment completely and inform us 10 days prior to your operation, you will be fully refunded except bank transfer fees and credit card commissions (if paid by credit card).
  • If you want to cancel your treatment completely and inform us less than 10 days prior to your operation, but before traveling, you will be refunded less a 15% last minute cancelation fee, bank transfer fees and credit card commissions (if paid by credit card).
  • If you want to cancel your treatment completely and inform us after you arrived to the hospital and visited your doctor, without any medical reasons identified by your doctor, you will be refunded less 30% last minute cancelation fee, doctor visit fee, fees of any medical test/examinations done, hotel and transfer fees, bank transfer fees and credit card commissions (if paid by credit card) are charged.
May I deduct this cost from my income tax?

In most of the Swiss cantons you can. Consult your tax adviser for precise information and conditions relating to such deductions.

May I pay by installments?

Yes you can. You can pay all our packages in up to 24 installments. You are free to choose the amount of installments and pay each installment via bank transfer, orange slip or credit card. In this case we will plan your travel when all installments are paid.

What costs do my health insurance cover?

This depends on your health insurance. But most of insurance companies do not cover these treatments, as they are not viewed as essential.

When, where and how I should do the payment?

Transfers FAQ - Global Medical Care

Transfers

Do all your packages offer two-way transfers to and from airport?

Our all-inclusive operations packages indeed contain full transfer services. We know the hassle of finding a transfer between airports and a city. Therefore for your comfort, our all-inclusive packages contain two-way transfers to and from the airport.

Do I have a luggage limitation for your transfers?

No. We do not impose any limits. We can guarantee enough space for two pieces of luggage per person. But if you are bringing more than two, your driver will certainly find a a solution as long as there is space in the car.

What do I need to do if I miss my plane?

First decide when you want to fly again. Then call the information line that figures on your treatment voucher. Our teams will do their best to find a suitable solution for you.

What do I need to do if my flight is delayed?

Noting. Our transfer team will continuously monitor the arrival time of your flight. They will either wait for you or arrange for another transfer.

Will you wait for me if I miss my plane or my plane got delayed?

Yes. Our main objective is your comfort. Thus we will make all necessary arrangements to ensure that we welcome you when you arrive.

Savings can range from 40 to 80%, depending on the procedure. In most of treatments you will save over 50% compared to treatment costs levied in Switzerland.

Is it safe to travel to the countries where your hospitals are situated?
